Well if you’re like me, being overweight affects your mood, your health and sometimes even your relationships.
In June of 2009, I was a mess. That’s me wearing pink in the front row of this family picture. I’m sitting there thinking, “I wish I had shown up late so I could hide in the back row behind my brother. Then only my face would show.”
But getting there early turns out to have been a blessing because when I saw this picture, I got mad. I vowed to take control of my weight. Even if it meant I had to do something drastic.
I could hardly stand myself anymore.
But I had already tried and failed on every diet from Atkins to Weight Watchers in my 40 years of dieting. It made no sense to do a “regular” diet again.
So I went to work.
First I got hold of a simple set of diet “rules” from the 1950’s. Then my husband discovered an obscure book about obesity aimed at doctors. Next I watched the author of that book deliver a provocative lecture based on his book.
It was mind-blowing. His lecture convinced me that every bit of diet advice I had been given for decades was wrong. At last, I was now connected to completely new information on obesity and weight loss. For the first time in my life I understood exactly why I got fat and what to do about it.
This was real scientific research I could rely on.
Instantly I knew what I had to do. I started designing a whole new way to diet and a new way to think about dieting. The way I looked at it, I had nothing to lose. Check that. I had a lot of weight to lose.
I had to unlearn all of the bad diet advice I had taken for years.
What if I told you our “obesity epidemic” is only about 30 years old? It’s true. Most of us started getting fatter in the mid 1980’s. This coincided with the release of our government’s “Dietary Guidelines for America.” They told us to reduce fat consumption from 40% to 30% and to eat more carbohydrates.
So we did.
This prompted food companies to start taking fat out of their foods so they could be marketed as “diet” and “low fat” foods. The unintended consequence was that they added sugar, high fructose corn syrup and flavorings to make these low fat foods palatable.
So we started eating them.
This was also about the time when fitness “experts” told us that jogging was the answer to staying thin and healthy.
So here we are today spending billions and billions on diet foods, health club memberships and exercise equipment. The result? Between 1998 and 2008 the number of obese Americans grew 37% according to the Center for Disease Control.
And they blame us for not eating right and exercising enough. They say it’s our fault for eating too much fast food and being too sedentary.
I bought into that advice for decades. I convinced myself I just needed to eat less and exercise more. What a mistake. Turns out it was eating less that wrecked my metabolism.
And here’s the dirty little secret about exercise: It makes you hungry and you eat more. Regular exercise with my high-priced personal trainer didn’t help me lose an ounce.
Do you like what you see when you look in the mirror?
If you’re like me there are years of your life with no pictures. I gave my husband a camera for Christmas, but I wouldn’t let him take my picture.
Being humiliated might be a good enough reason to lose a lot of weight. But I was also worried about my health. You see, obesity causes or exacerbates all of these diseases:
- Hypertension—I was on blood pressure meds until I developed and did Plan Z. After losing 28 pounds the first month I was able to come off the meds completely.

Remember, I told you I had to unlearn most of what I know about dieting.
You see, I thought I knew everything about dieting. After all, I had spent 40 years and a small fortune going on one diet after the other. Trouble was I knew nothing about the real reason I got fat in the first place. And I didn’t have correct information about keeping the weight off once I stopped the diet and went back to eating “normally.” If I had the right information I would have done it.
I started dieting at 12 years old. Much later I dubbed myself Queen of Extreme Diets that Don’t Work. Oprah and I were on that strict liquid diet at the same time in the 1980’s. You may remember her rolling her wagon of fat on stage with 67 pounds of fat in it. Well I lost 52 pounds of fat on the same diet.
Of course, both of us gained all of the weight back, and more.

That’s just the short list.
I’ve bought pills from the back of women’s magazines. There have been “secret” diets I hid from my husband. That way if I started and failed again he’d never know. I failed repeatedly.
Can you relate?
You are not an incurable fat person. Those diets failed you. You did not fail at those diets.
The call to the University of Wisconsin’s Obesity Clinic was one of the hardest calls I’ve ever made. They put me on Fen Phen and I lost 13 pounds in 18 months on that “miracle” drug.
The experts there diagnosed my metabolism as “kaput.”
Seems that my years of extreme dieting had signaled my metabolism to slow down and hold onto my fat for dear life. Here’s the dark side of conventional dieting that the Diet Industry doesn’t want you to know: Conventional dieting keeps most of us on a perpetual cycle of losing and gaining the same 13-20 pounds for the rest of our lives.
You can’t live on diet shakes or shrink wrapped foods forever. Once you go back to eating “normally,” you get fat all over again. Then, you need another diet. Eating “normally” made you fat in the first place.
I know. It’s insane.
Here I am today at Plan Z by Zola headquarters. I’m more than 50 pounds lighter than I was in the first picture. I call myself “a work in progress.” In fact, I almost waited until I got back to a size six again to go public with Plan Z.
But I decided that would be unfair to you.
Besides, our clients tell me they like the fact I’m “one of them”.
Look, I talk to dieters and potential dieters all day long. This is a typical conversation:
Dieter: “I eat healthy and I walk two or three miles a day.”
Me: “How much weight do you want to lose?
Dieter: “I’m 90 pounds overweight according to my doctor. He says I’m borderline morbidly obese.”
Me: “Are you open to the fact that if what you were told about how to eat right isn’t right or you wouldn’t be 90 pounds overweight?”
The problem is what the government, the media and the Diet Industry told you was “healthy eating” isn’t.
Plan Z by Zola is important because today I feel vindicated, energized and happy.
But I’m still angry at all of the people who sold me very expensive drugs and diets as well as doctors who gave me very bad advice. Now let me ask you if you have ever seen a diet with all of those elements? I know I never did until I created Plan Z by Zola. Every dieter talks about the structure. Plan Z by Zola adds the structure missing from every diet from Atkins to Weight Watchers.
Now for a little more background information:
This blew my mind.
I vividly recall when I learned there are actually three kinds of fat.
This is the startling information from the original diet protocol I got hold of. Turns out that in the 1950s a British doctor made the breakthrough observation there are 3 different kinds of fat.
Structural fat cushions your internal organs. You need the structural fat on your heel pad to be able to walk and stand comfortably.
Normal fat is the six or seven pounds you might gain on a cruise or over the holidays. That weight is relatively easy to gain and LOSE. The younger and lighter you are the easier normal fat comes and goes.
Abnormal fat is the fat you and I want to lose. It’s fat that gradually—year upon year—gets locked away. Once you get about 25 pounds overweight there is a good chance your hormones have turned against you and made you into a fat storing machine.
That’s what had happened to me long before I posed for that vacation picture.
And this may make reading this far worth your time: The Diet Industry is based on the flawed hypothesis that losing weight is a simple math problem. Their “experts” tell you all you have to do are burn off more calories than you take in.
Calories in—calories out.
You believe it. It’s common knowledge. I used to believe it, too.
But it’s flat out wrong. And it’s keeping you fat.
In fact, the more you reduce your calorie intake, the more your metabolism slows down. And the harder your body holds onto its fat.
That’s why when you have dieted before you’ve lost the first 8, 10 or 13 pounds and then stalled. And as soon as you started eating normally, what happened? BAM, you gained all the weight back.
Am I close?
You see, our bodies store fat and lock it away for “the famine” that doesn’t come. You have to go without food for many days before your body starts giving up stored fat. First, your body slows down your metabolism, then you lose normal fat, muscle mass and, finally, you start burning your stored fat.
There is one, and only one, exception to this rule.
During pregnancy there is a hormone that accesses and mobilizes stored fat to feed the fetus.
Stay with me, guys.
That British doctor I mentioned was doing relief work in India. He witnessed hungry, emaciated women giving birth to fat healthy babies.
Turns out the hormone that mobilizes fat in pregnant women is called human chorionic gonadatropin. It’s an equal opportunity fat mobilizer that works in women and men.
So over fifty years ago, this doctor started injecting the hormone into his patients in Rome with amazing results. He wrote about finding “The Cure for Obesity.” But there were a couple of drawbacks to the cure:
- 1. It was the most expensive diet on the planet because it required traveling to Rome and staying there for 40 days at a time.
- 2. The doctor prescribed every morsel of food you put in your mouth. And it was bland, boring hospital food.
He didn’t think people had the discipline to administer their own diet.
He also didn’t give his patients a plan for keeping the weight off, so only the really rich ones could go back to Rome every year or two and go through the process again. More expense.
But this doctor sure had the losing part figured out. I decided to follow his rules and see what happened.
But before I started I first got connected to a world-renowned homeopathic pharmacy outside of London and learned they could make a version of the fat mobilizing hormone.
No injections. You just squirt it under your tongue.
Here’s what happened next. Once I started taking the homeopathically produced hormone, my body started burning my fat at the rate of 2500 to 4000 calories per day. That meant I could go on a low calorie eating plan without getting hungry. So instead of slowing down my metabolism, this diet effectively amped it up. ( I want you to know that there are NO stimulants in our ZR37 formula that would speed up your heart rate or make you feel like a gerbil in a cage. I’m even allergic to caffeine so I would never allow anything like that. I did team up with the experts and designed a formula that not only contains that hormone but also contains a series of ingredients that help make the whole process of dieting more comfortable).
Remember, I had done starvation diets before that trashed my metabolism. If you buy one of those and lose some weight, but go back to eating “normally” the weight comes right back on. I just call that another diet hoax.
I knew immediately that 100% of my diet’s success would be measured in keeping the weight off. And that’s why we’re growing so fast. Our dieters are shrinking and then they are maintaining their weight with minimal effort.
They are spreading the word to their friends, families and co-workers.
Now, here is where we separate ourselves from the diet industry.
Like I said, you get a complete diet re-education.
The light bulb went on for me when I watched the video where the obesity researcher tells a group of doctors that obesity is a disease of fat production, not overeating. So he asked the doctors rhetorically, “What causes fat production?”
Well it turns out insulin is the hormone that tells your body to store fat. When you eat too many carbohydrates, you constantly secrete insulin and the insulin drives fat into the cells. The food you eat doesn’t nourish you, it fattens you. The end user of the food you eat are your cells. When the sugar is converted into fat and locked away, the food you eat doesn’t get to the cells, so you starve at the cellular level.
And because you’re starving at the cellular level, you become hungry. And you eat more.
This next statement may hurt your head, and it took me awhile to fully understand, but once you embrace the brilliance of it, you are on your way to your thinner future.
You’re not fat because you overeat. You overeat because you are fat.
Listen to me confess my years of diet failure to a Canadian interviewer or keep reading:
If you try to satisfy your hunger with a low fat, high carbohydrate meal or snack, you elevate your insulin levels again and that causes you to store more fat.
When you’re on the ZReduction phase you quit making and storing fat, because you quit making too much insulin. Then, the ZR37 Reduction Formula mobilizes your stored fat and burns the fat that you’ve been storing for years.
It would be nice to think of this as a miracle cure, but it’s just simple science.

What you eat matters
Take a look in your pantry, refrigerator and freezer. Do you have a lot of packaged “low fat” and “diet” foods in there? If you’re eating diet food and still don’t like what you see in the mirror, you might want to try Plan Z by Zola.
I’m no different than you. I used to live on a protein bar for breakfast and Lean Cuisine Macaroni and Cheese for dinner. I skipped lunch because I was too busy. See the problem? Let me walk you through the four phases here in detail.
The first phase of the diet is ZBinge and it lasts for two days.
You start taking the ZR37 Reduction Formula the morning of Day 1. You take three squirts under your tongue four times a day. And you do that for 37 days. During ZBinge you eat everything you want and as much as you want?
We actually need you to gain a few pounds of normal fat. That way when you start reducing you won’t be hungry. It takes three days for the ZR37 Reduction Formula to fully kick in. Phase three is Z Reboot and it lasts for 42 days.

During this phase you also start to reset your metabolism. On the first day of ZReboot you eat up to 2000 calories. Then you keep adding calories until you gain a pound or two. Then you back down. For me, I can now eat somewhere between 2300 and 2600 calories per day. I used to put on fat if I ate over 800 calories. Now I am eating more than I have ever eaten as an adult and maintaining my weight loss. It’s the same for other Plan Z dieters. We have guys who have lost 80 pounds, 100 pounds and more tell us they can eat even 3800 calories and not gain back an ounce.
After 90 days, one of two things happens. You move on to ZLife, or if you have more weight you want to lose, you can go back and do ZBinge, ZReduction and ZReboot for another 90 days. And you do it at a greatly reduced price.
