A List of Really Good Fats

Fat doesn’t make you fat.

There are good fats and bad fats. Here’s a list of really good fats. They are good because they nourish your body at the cellular level. They don’t amp up the acidity in your body. In ZReboot and ZLife, you want to eat more and more of these good fats.

Don’t worry. You won’t overdo them. They are so nourishing and so filling that you will be full. And you won’t be starving for the bad fats:

Here’s the list:

  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Butter
  • Extra virgin coconut oil
  • Flaxseed oil and flax meal
  • Avocado oil and avocadoes
  • Almonds oil and almonds
  • Walnuts oil and walnuts
  • Olives
  • Pumpkin seeds
  • Evening primrose oil
  • Cod liver oil (Your grandmother knew.)
  • Wild cold water fish (I’ve been to a fish farm. Trust me you want to avoid farm-raised fish.)
  • Coconut milk, unsweetened
  • Organic goat cheese
  • Organic free range egg yolks
  • Almond butter
  • Pine nuts
  • Most raw nuts and seeds
  • Macadamia nut oil
  • Borage oil
  • Sunflower oil
  • Unsweetened peanut butter

Your body needs healthy fats to run smoothly. The more of these good fats you eat, the less you will need the refined oils you may have been used to. In fact, when you decide to have that muffin at the office, it will taste like the processed piece of refined, manufactured food that it is.

Are you angry that onion rings and French fries didn’t make the list?

Or are you angry that the restaurant dares to serve you a thousand calories worth of starch whether you want them or not? That’s the more important question.

If your mind is right, you know the answer.

Avoid:

  • Canola oil
  • Vegetable oil
  • Corn oil
  • Soybean oil
