Herb Mustard Sauce

Plan Z Phase: This is a Z2 (ZReduction) recipe. One of the most difficult things to do for the ZReduction phase of the diet is to come up with sauces that don’t taste sour. When you leave out the olive oil, for a lot of things this is a challenge. Not with this sauce. It’s versatile, too. You can use it with chicken or with fish. Simple grilled chicken or grilled fish will work. Or even as a sauce for green beans or asparagus.
Servings: Serves 2
Ingredients:
- 2 Tbl of dijon mustard (no sugar on the ingredients list)
- 1 Tbl of minced fresh parsley
- 1 Tbl of minced fresh oregano (try to get fresh but in a pinch or tsp of each in dried form will work. It just won’t have as fresh a taste)
- 1 Tbl of water
- 1 sprinkle of cayenne for a bit of zip (to taste)
Instructions:
Mix all of these in a small bowl with a fork or teeny whisk. Ready to serve. You can put it on the side and use it as a dipping sauce or you can drizzle.
Last time I made it I put it on the side of the crispy chicken. This was the most sophisticated and tasty version of “Z Nuggets” you could have. It was wonderful.
Enjoy!
Cheers,
