How Sugar Affects the Brain

Remember that old anti-drug campaign that used to run on TV? It was the one with the fried egg in the pan. “This is Your Brain on Drugs” was the headline.
It was a helpful analogy. The frying of the egg, and the sizzling you’d hear, gave the idea of your brain being fried as a result of drug abuse a powerful reference point.
What I am going to give you today is a short video that talks about how sugar affects your brain. Sugar doesn’t just affect your weight. It’s much more insidious than that. The addiction potential is just as powerful as that of drugs. The fact that sugar is legal doesn’t make it any less of a danger.
Arrests should be made. Processed food companies know exactly what sugar does to our brains, yet they gratuitously add it to our food in an effort to get us to buy more. They want us hooked.
To quote another anti-drug campaign that was spread across all media channels, “Just say NO.” – To sugar, that is.
