Super Slow Workouts

Why do we love Super Slow? It’s an intense workout that takes about 20 minutes a week.
A doctor told me about Super Slow weightlifting shortly after I turned 50. It took me about six months actually to make the phone call and schedule my first workout. After a short orientation, my trainer Alden put me through my first workout. I realized I hadn’t worked that hard or intensely EVER. I walked out of the workout totally tired. But I recovered quickly. And the next week, I was a bit stronger. For eight consecutive years, I have gotten stronger each week.
You don’t need to discipline yourself to exercise, you need to create a habit. It’s easier to create a habit of exercising once a week for 20-minutes than to exercise an hour a day 6 days a week.
What if you could achieve better results in 20-minutes of exercise a week, than you could in 6 hours? Would you consider it?
In this Video Doug McGuff demonstrates a Super Slow Workout. He should know. He owns a gym in Louisiana and wrote one of my favorite books on exercise, Body by Science.
