Baked Salmon

Plan Z Phase: This is a Z2 (ZReduction) recipe.
A quick, easy, and simple fish dish to brighten up your weekday meals. Try pairing the salmon with some of my Zola-fied “Berghoff” spinach for a complete and tasty dinner.
Serving Size: Serves 2
Ingredients:
- 2 six to eight ounce pieces of salmon. All skin removed
- 2 Tbl of vinaigrette. Your choice of flavor. Non-sweet. I used champagne vinaigrette. (I am going to clear some full-fat dressings for Plan Z. This is the first recipe using salad dressing).
- 1/2-1 tsp of dried basil (up to you how intense you want your basil flavor)
- Sea salt
Instructions:
Heat oven to 375 degrees.
Put the fish pieces in an ovenproof pan that has been sprayed with olive oil. Drizzle dressing over the fish. Let marinate in your refrigerator for 15 minutes. Don’t marinate it much longer or the vinegar in the dressing will being to ‘cook the fish’. Sprinkle the basil over the fish and marinade.
Cover dish with aluminum foil.
Transfer to your oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until fish is done to your liking. Grate sea salt and pepper to taste.
I served mine over Zola-fied “Berghoff” spinach.
Enjoy!
Cheers,

When I was a kid this was served at very special meals. My mother made hers plain. I had no idea how incredibly fabulous this meat could taste until I started adding the meat rub!

The Berghoff is a famous Chicago restaurant. Their creamed spinach is an institution in itself. This is my ZReduction version.

What is your reason behind clearing full-fat salad dressing for Z2? I’m not complaining one bit!! Just wondered if you had been experimenting!!
Hi
I have been experimenting for over a year. I have come to the conclusion that if it’s 2 Tbl or less per day… it’s okay. The list of dressings will be limited but I am going to write up the Food Alert son so everyone will know.
Almost all full fat dressing contains a sugar in some form…I can’t find any that do not….I have troubles with using any in z3 let alone z2
You are right in that almost all of them contain sugar in some form. Just try to find the ones with sugar toward the end of the list. The further down the list the less it will have. That little bit of sugar won’t destroy your success. just be careful. if you stall don’t use it. it’s optional. or in Z3 you can consider making your own dressings. YOu certainly don’t need to add sugar to a homemade product.
