Plan Z Phase: This is a Z3 (ZReboot) recipe

Servings: serves 4-6. Can easily be doubled and baked in a 9 ” x 13 ” pan.

I found this recipe online. I didn’t have to do much to make it Zola. It tastes very much like a cheeseburger. The way to make it exciting though is to make sure you pile on the toppings that you like on your burger. You can feed the whole family with this and no one will miss the bun.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. of ground beef
  • 1 tsp of garlic powder
  • 1 tsp of onion powder
  • 6 pieces of bacon cooked and chopped (optional. If you are in a hurry you can skip this step)
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 oz of tomato paste
  • ½ cup of heavy cream
  • salt and pepper to taste.
  • 8 oz of grated cheddar

Directions:

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

Brown the ground beef with the garlic and onion powders.

Scatter on the bacon bits if you are using them. Layer on the other half of the cooked beef.   In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, tomato paste, cream, salt, and pepper until well combined.  Stir half of the cheese into the mixture.

Pour this egg mixture over the beef mixture. Top with the rest of the cheese.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until it begins to brown on top. Let sit ten minutes before you cut into it so it can firm up and keep you from burning your mouth.

Ideas for on top or on the side:

  • raw onion rings
  • oven baked shallot rings
  • chopped tomato
  • pickles
  • jalapeno slices
  • sautéed mushrooms
  • maybe some coleslaw on top or on the side
  • a squirt of mustard or ketchup

You get the idea. Just dress it up like a burger to make it more exciting and individualized. This way the conservative can go plain and the creative can go wild.

Enjoy!
