ZReboot: Soups & Stews

Nothing found.

Z2: Soups & Stews

Beef and Vegetable Soup

Tastes very much like the traditional version but this one doesn’t include higher carbohydrate vegetables like carrots and potatoes. Still quite delightful, though. Brings back memories of grandma.

Roasted Poblano and Ground Sirloin Stew

Have a bottle of hot sauce on the side if anyone wants theirs with more heat. This is intentionally very mild for those that don’t usually eat Mexican food.

Chunky Chicken Chili

We made this during a snow storm, the taste took off the chill of the day.

Z3: Entrees

Cajun Butter Steak

My version of this steak is done by searing and roasting the meat. You can also choose to do this on the grill. Choose your favorite steak cut. It was a special occasion at our place, so I used beef tenderloin.

Creamy Cajun Shrimp and Sausage “Stew”

I’ll admit it. I found this inspiration recipe online. I did not have to change it up much to Zola-fy it..it is soooo good!

Cheeseburger Casserole

I found this recipe online. I didn’t have to do much to make it Zola. It tastes very much like a cheeseburger. The way to make it exciting though is to make sure you pile on the toppings that you like on your burger. You can feed the whole family with this and no one will miss the bun.

General Tso’s Chicken

This is a very popular Chinese take out item that you can easily make at home. You can also follow these instructions and make it much lower carb than the one from the restaurant.

Shrimp and Mushroom Casserole

This is elegant comfort food. It’s sort of like the American version of the French dish called Coquille St. Jacque.

Cauliflower Pancakes

The other day, potato pancakes came to mind and I they could probably be made with cauliflower. Turns out they can!

Oven Bacon

Maybe this is not news to you, but it took me six decades to learn about oven bacon. In our family, my husband has always been the bacon maker. He’s great at getting it perfectly crispy.

Exotic Egg Salad

This is great as a light lunch time meal and a great holiday recipe. The juxtaposition of the sweeter apricots with the curry has the exotic taste I was looking for.

Lockdown Chili (Z3.5 Version)

I thought – what better time to have a spicy chili than when I am in lockdown, practicing social distancing.

Cream of Mushroom Soup

A rich and easy cream of mushroom soup.

Instant Pot Corned Beef

When you buy corned beef, there is a little packet of corned beef spices that accompanies the brisket. The secret is to use that and ADD your own corned beef spices to the mix -- after you toast them.

Sweet and Spicy Acorn Squash

I love my acorn squash roasted with just butter in the center and a sprinkle of sea salt and pepper. But I know tons of people want brown sugar in the middle and more. So this version can satisfy the sweet tooth and add an optional spice/heat factor.

Italian Sausage, Mushroom and Cheese Brunch Casserole

As far as brunch casseroles go, this one is very easy to make and pleases the crowd. It can be made ahead and heated the day of the party.

Quick Coquilles St. Jacques (Scallops in a Creamy Mushroom-Parmesan Sauce)

I remember my first introduction to scallops like it was yesterday. As I took my first bite and swooned I knew these were to become a new favorite.

Thai Chicken with Peanut Sauce

This is a yummy dish with the creamy peanut butter sauce, the tamari and ginger.

Mexican Avocado Soup with Chicken or Turkey

I love this soup. You can make this with leftover turkey and have a colorful way to use your extras.

Sea Salt Crusted Snap Peas

A variation of my sea salt crusted snow peas recipe - but with snap peas!

Grilled Eggplant Parmesan

A nice, summery meal that can also be eaten in cooler months. You can make this in a grill pan or on an outdoor grill.  This is much lighter and lower carb than the breaded and fried version.

Barbecue Burgers – Zola Style

There’s no way to use a commercial sauce for barbecued meats. They ALL have copious amounts of sugar in them. I know. I checked every bottle in the store, so I set about to come up with a rub and a sugarless barbecue sauce for Plan Z.

Italian Lemon Chicken

This tastes almost like chicken scallopini. You’ll notice the breading is missing. The capers are missing. But the taste is still there.

Z2: Entrees

Roasted Lemon Chicken

When you are in the ZReduction portion of Plan Z you will not be eating the skin of the chicken or any of the dark meat. Breast meat only.

Grilled Eggplant

I have decided the grilled Chinese eggplant tastes better than potato chips! Even better than French fries! And it’s so easy.

Dieter Claire’s Taco Seasoning

From Dieter Claire: Make this in bulk and store it in a jar. It's less expensive than taco seasoning packets and has no fillers. Plus, I can tweak the flavors to suit my family.

Sun Dried Tomatoes

No need to salt them. No need to season them. They will be delicious and have PLENTY of flavor.

Roasted Sea Bass

Easter is the perfect time to make this. Sea bass is probably the most wonderful fish on the planet. It's taste is out-of-this-world.

Lockdown Chili (Z2 Version)

What better time to have a spicy chili than when I am in lockdown, practicing social distancing.

Roasted Red Pepper and Beef Chili

Okay, so I opened my pantry and saw a jar of roasted red pepper strips. I thought… I could make a new chili with these! So here you have it.

Italian Sausage Soup (ZReduction Version)

This simple Italian Soup is packed with flavor and convenience. It travels well and heats in the microwave too. Leftovers are a BIG YUM.

Tarragon Mustard Shrimp

This dish made a wonderful lunch salad entrée in our Plan Z kitchen. I think it would be GREAT as an appetizer at a cocktail party, too.

Chicken Breasts with Zola’s French Pan Sauce

This is my favorite new creation. I think I have made this three times in the last two weeks and that’s pretty much a record for me.

Pork Loin Roast with Red Pepper & Spinach Stuffing

The flavor and aroma of this dish will bring a little bit of the Italian countryside to your dinner table. Try it out tonight with your family.

Coffee-Crusted Steaks with Tomato Salad & Caramelized Onion “Jam”

Coffee on a steak? Heck yes! This combo is a steak-house classic that will leave your mouth watering for more but won't keep you up all night from a caffeine buzz.

Asian Balsamic Glazed Salmon

A tasty dish you can have on the table in under thirty minutes!

Mediterranean Cucumber Salad

This simple salad can be prepared in minutes and offers a light flavor, a bright bowl full of color and cool crunch on a warm day!

Russian Traditional Salad

This delicious recipe was submitted by Plan Z dieter Bruce. Bruce says, "We saw this sixteen years ago on a trip to visit our daughter in-law. They keep it from day to day and just add to it when more is needed."

Chicken Piccata

This delicious recipe was submitted by Dieter Karen. Thanks Karen!

Mexican Chicken Stew

This is a great Zola to Go! dish, perfect for those cold days for lunch.

Italian Green Bean Salad

This is a fun, colorful side dish to a plain piece of meat. This goes together so fast! You can even make it in the morning and finish assembly just before dinner.

Pork Chops with Thyme and Mustard

This is an easy and tasty meal that comes together in a jiffy. Big Yum!

Vindaloo

This is probably the spiciest offering for Plan Z. So if you like Indian food and you like it spicy, this is your ticket.

Z3: Starters, Salads & Sauces

Blue Cheese Dressing

The first time I made this, I put it on top of a wedge salad...and felt like I was eating dinner in a steakhouse. It's that good.

Luscious Lemon Cream

So light and decadent - YUM! Serve with fruit, or any other dessert for extra special deliciousness.

Strawberry Milkshake

I think this makes a beautiful, refreshing dessert. If you can’t get fresh strawberries go ahead and use frozen. Slices are best so they don’t get caught in the blender. For a special occasion top it with whipped cream!

Alfredo Sauce

You can serve this over baked chicken, or make “fettuccini” alfredo with zucchini noodles.

Monster Mouths

A ghoulish (and healthy) Halloween snack idea.

Peach Parfait

The parfait is a serious twist on a Cooking Light recipe I came across, so I need to give them credit but I also wanted you to know it's light and rather healthy.

Jalapeno Popper Crisps

These easy to make Jalapeno poppers are Z3 friendly and only take 15 minutes!

Mexican Chicken Salad

If you are going totally low carb you can serve this over lettuce. Bib lettuce would look nice.

Bacon-Apple Chicken Salad

Everything’s better with bacon. Right? Enjoy this crunch-filled chicken salad. Serve on top of salad or toast one piece of a low-carb bread, butter it and serve open-face.

Pumpkin Spiced Whipped Cream

Serve this on your pancakes instead of syrup. Or if you want some syrup just do a teeny bit; like a capful. And use REAL maple syrup. No diet syrup. A bit of the real stuff is better for you.

Chunky Cajun Peach Sauce

You can reheat this to serve or you can serve it room temp or cold. Just depends on the time of year you make it. In the summer it would be great cold.

Creamy Dessert Sauce

I love this sauce over the inside out apple pie. YUM.

Mexican Seafood Salad (the Z3 version)

The design of this dish is for fancy food for a hot day. You can make this much simpler and less expensive by using less expensive seafood and fish options.

Brown Butter-Sage Cream Sauce

Best served over ravioli; especially a pumpkin ravioli or a butternut squash ravioli.

Cooked “Carpaccio” Salad

I did a cooked variation of this dish and served it as an entrée. Loved it.

Ricotta Cream with Strawberry Compote

AKA VP Anger's 65th Birthday Dessert. This super-simple, light and dreamy dessert is easy enough for a weeknight treat and fancy enough to serve to a dinner party.

Waldorf Salad

This will make a great side dish at your table; even your holiday table. And think of this as a way to use up leftover turkey.

Peanut Butter Yogurt Swirl

This recipe works for breakfast or for dessert. Really satisfying! A great treat and super fast!

Z2: Starters, Salads & Sauces

Zippy Scallion Onion Salad

This recipe is designed for your barbecue needs. Of course you can eat it with anything but I had the Korean BBQ Sauce in mind when I paired these up. The Korean sauce is sort of sweet and then this is zippy.

Cajun Shrimp and a “Mess of Greens”

This is a colorful dish that’s also healthy. Fresh and fancy enough to serve to company. No one will miss rice. Easy for a weeknight too.

Taco Tres (Taco Salad Recipe #3)

Dieters rave about taco salad. This one is my new favorite.

Spicy Dipping Sauce

Serve with my seared sea scallops or with any fish or sea food. I think grilled shrimp would be great! Or even cooked, cold shrimp would pair nicely with this on a hot day. You can serve the sauce hot or cold.

Steak Marinade #4

Summer grilling is not over yet. This one can be done on the grill, in the broiler, or follow my lead to sear it and roast it in your oven. The last option is used by French restaurants who serve steak.

Steak Marinade #3

Makes for a great steak. In the picture I served it with shallot onion rings as a garnish and veggie on the side. You can still have a salad with this too and be within your allotment for ZReduction.

Apple “Popcorn” with Toppings

Going to the theatre or the movies? Pack this in a zippered baggie. The crunching of the apple won’t be any louder than the crunching of the popcorn. It’s a BIG YUM.

Mexicali Side Salad

This salad is great with anything grilled. We served it with grilled sea scallops. Yum!

Snow Pea Salad

This can be served with any fish for a nice light meal.

Grilled French Chicken Salad

A new recipe! For my first ZReduction meal, I wanted something with some crunch and some class. I came up with this grilled French chicken salad.

Tomato Pizzettas

This is a great side dish but also makes a great appetizer platter to bring to a party or get-together.

Roasted Asparagus with Artichoke Heart “Sauce”

Serve this with a simple small filet or grilled chicken breast for a wonderful meal.

Eggplant Salad

This salad can be served as a side dish. It can be warm, room temperature or cold; depending on the weather outside and your tastes. It’s an earthy dish with some zip from the vinegar.

Eggplant Tomato Combo

This eggplant tomato combo can be eaten as a side dish or as a spread. When I make an antipasti tray for an appetizer course, I’ll sometimes include this as a dip or spread for crackers.

Cucumber Salad

This is a great picnic dish or summer grilling party.

Salsa Fresca

This is another really simple Mexican staple. Again, fresh vegetables are key to a really great tasting salsa. Can go with meats, poultry, or even fish.

Tangy Coleslaw

Makes a great side dish with Zola's "Almost" Fried Chicken! Travels well for Zola To GO! and lasts for days in the refrigerator.

“Creamy” Coleslaw

Great for your summer barbecue.

Marinated Tomato and Artichoke Salad

Marinate with your favorite Plan Z Dressing. I use the balsamic-pesto dressing or anything on the Italian side will work.

Z3: Appetizers & Snacks

Pigs in a Poke

This recipe comes from veteran Plan Z dieter Amy. This is adapted from an old recipe from the 1970’s. Even then some people knew how to eat.

Deviled Eggs

Deviled eggs are great for summer parties. It’s sort of a retro-thing that I’m on a mission to bring back into style. My mother’s deviled eggs were quite simple.

Tandoori Chicken Skewers

To prep for this dish soak your wooden skewers in water for 15 or 20 minutes to they will be wet and won’t burn on the grill. Or use metal skewers.

Chicken Satay (Chicken skewers with peanut sauce)

You can serve these as an appetizer, a party buffet food, a lunch or even as a dinner option. If you have never had Thai food and want an easy way to try it, this is a perfect dish.

Greek Yogurt and Fresh Fruit

This is recipe was contributed by Plan Z dieter Shana. What a great idea! Super easy.

Deep Fried Bay Scallops with Dipping Sauce

Great as an appetizer or a main meal. Try them, your kids will love them too and their healthy.

Yum Yum Onions

I titled these Yum Yum Onions for the obvious reason. I am convinced they will receive rave reviews at your table, like they did at mine.

Hot Chipped Beef

When you’re feeling in a retro mood, pull this recipe out, serve with crackers and you’ll be singing the yum-yum song.

Parmesan Crackers

Make these crackers when you have invited a friend over for a glass of wine and you want to have a little snack on the side.

Turkey Roll-Ups

This is a recipe that can made by a supervised child or a helper. It's basically assembly work. Your time is then freed up to work on the other things. It took me about 30 minutes to do 30 rolls.

Caramelized Roasted Garlic

You will want to roast the garlic until it is lightly golden on the edges and the timing depends on your oven, the size of the garlic and the amount of oil you use.

Pear and Blue Cheese Dip

You can use celery sticks to dip or a few of the wafer thin crackers. You can even just eat it with a spoon!

Rockin’ Guacamole

Efrem says, "This is a really easy to make, great tasting guacamole to accompany any Mexican dish.

Creamed Spinach

Creamed spinach makes a wonderful, old-school side dish or you can use it as a dip. Serve with Melba rounds and just reuse your rounds so you don’t eat more than 3 or 4.

Scotch Eggs

A traditional Scotch Egg involves wrapping sausage around a whole hard-boiled egg. It is commonly eaten in Scotland, where the Scots will eat this either as an appetizer or as part of a main meal.

Stuffed Jalapeno Peppers

Depending on the size of your peppers you might have filling left over. You can keep this for later. It will make a lovely stuffing for an omelet.

Parmesan-Reggiano in the “Raw”

There's only one ingredient in this recipe. The success is in the quality and the presentation. Cooking rookies and gourmets in a hurry can't beat this one for ease.

The Skeptics' Agreement Waiver Form

Skeptics Agreement

Let me start off by saying that I am not surprised you are skeptical. In my 40+ years of dieting, I think I have pretty much seen it all. I tried it all and in the long run, all those diets failed me. Sometimes I lost weight, but I never kept it off. Those diets never solved the real, underlying problem. If I’d had the education you’re now getting as part of Plan Z, I never would have gained the weight back. I now know how to get that weight off and how to keep it off. Follow this plan faithfully and you’ll know what I know. I’m on your side.

By asking for the Skeptics’ Guarantee you open up another style of diet coaching beyond what other dieters feel they need. And that’s okay. I’m over-the-moon confident that Plan Z can work for you, and I am willing to stand behind it.

Here’s what you’ll need to do as part of the Plan Z Skeptics’ Agreement:

For the first 9 days you are on Plan Z (beginning with Day 1 of your ZBinge) you agree to stay in touch with us. The easiest way to do this is by email. If you have questions and want to chat, you can also be in touch by phone. We are in the office Mon-Thurs from 10 am – 2 pm Eastern and sometimes on the weekend. You can also find me by cell. Here are my contact points:

  • My email address is zola@planzdiet.com. I check my email weekday mornings at 8 am and periodically throughout the day.
  • My direct line is 800-255-9853 x 101.
  • My cell phone number is 773-501-5301. Please only call that number outside of office hours. I don’t keep it in my office.

If you have a wacky schedule and need to vary that, let’s talk and figure it out. We need to be in contact so I can make sure you are on target with each element of the diet. I also want to give you extra attention so you can ask questions and receive guidance from me. Each time you contact me either by email or phone you’ll answer these 3 questions:

  • How you feel
  • How much weight you’ve lost
  • How it’s going overall

And then we can discuss the finer points of the diet. You can ask anything from cooking questions to bathroom habit questions. Nothing is out of bounds for you. This is serious dieting and I want you to feel cared for. Most diets just sell you food and let you go. This is not one of those diets. My job is to guide you through the diet. I am not a doctor and I cannot give you medical advice.

You can release me from the Skeptics’ Guarantee at any time during those first 9 days by letting me know you are happy with your results and are ready to be on your own. If you want to invoke the guarantee please let us know by Day 9. After Day 9 you’ll be releasing your ability to get a skeptic’s refund. If by Day 9, when you and I evaluate the process, you have not lost an amount of weight you feel is a good amount for you, I will arrange to refund your purchase price minus $135. You will have paid $15 for each day you were on Plan Z. In order to qualify for that refund you will need to return your manual and all of your remaining ZR50 Reduction formula. I will email you a paid USPS return label that you will print off, put on your package and give to your USPS driver or drop off at a USPS location. Those items must arrive in our offices at 5222 Old Hixson Pike, Suite 208, Hixson TN 37343 by Day 30. That means if you delay too long you might need to overnight them. If that happens, send them in a manner that’s trackable in case there are any issues with your shipping carrier. Otherwise you’d lose your ability to get your funds returned. If you paid for your diet with a credit card you’ll get your refund by credit card. If you paid through PayPal, you will get your refund through PayPal.

I am not afraid to guarantee results because Plan Z has a 97.2% success rate. I have been an entrepreneur for nearly 40 years and I strive to have a company with zero unhappy clients. If you’re not 100% sure, then call me at 800.255.9853 to discuss it. I have found that the most skeptical people often become Plan Z zealots.

Plan Z is more than a diet. It is a complete plan for taking back your life and health. If this is what you’ve been looking for, I encourage you to jump in. Your thinner future is only 50 days away.
